Gallery Moments
A living memory of the night these pieces were first witnessed
This collection began as an invitation—to return, witness, and gather meaning through form.

What you see here first debuted in a gallery space, surrounded by conversation, memory, and presence. Each piece was met not only with eyes, but with feeling. With pause. With recognition. That moment has passed, but the work continues.

The Exhibit is a living archive. It holds garments, images, and artifacts shaped by lived experience, creative devotion, and the quiet rituals of becoming. Some pieces are available now. Others are still unfolding.

This work lives beyond the gallery—carried forward through those who wear it, remember it, and move with it.

With gratitude,
Kei

What did this moment mean for me?

The moment my family and I arrived at the exhibit, I felt a quiet sense of relief — the time to share and connect has begun. I adjusted my posture and stepped into presence, ready to present.

I felt both nervous and open in a place that was deeply familiar, yet entirely new. It had been 23 years since I last walked these halls as a student at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, and the space had grown beautifully.

This moment was a full-circle homecoming — a return to my roots, a reconnection with current students, and a shared celebration with alumni.
