A New Year Practice for Healing, Perspective & Emotional Renewal

Happy New Year ✨

Welcome back from the holiday pause. As our team gently returns and the pace of life slowly rebuilds, we’re choosing to honor this in-between space—a moment for reflection, grounding, and intention.

Let’s begin with our first Ritual of Radiance of the New Year.

Ritual of Radiance #1: Hand to Heart Breathing

a pleasant Caribbean woman breathing intentionally with her hand on her heart. She rests in a softly lit, warm living space wearing cozy outfit and a colorful scarf
  • Close your eyes.
  • Place one hand over your heart.
  • Inhale gently through the nose.
    Exhale longer than your inhale.
  • Repeat as often as you like.

Now ask yourself— "what do I feel?"

We live in a world that rewards loud, alarming emotions. They pull us into reaction and survival mode. But not every feeling deserves our energy. Some emotions are subtle. Intuitive. Loving. Vibrational.

When we breathe with our hand to our heart, we communicate directly with the body—and the body responds through sensation, emotion, and quiet knowing.

A True Story of Pain, Healing & Perspective

I recently spoke with a man who shared that for years he had lived with chronic, “degenerative” pain. Walking was difficult. His greatest fear wasn’t the pain itself—it was becoming a burden to his family.

What he wanted most was reassurance that his present reality was not his legacy.

Hand to heart, his body was speaking loudly. Perhaps for the first time, he was ready to listen.

He pulled three tarot cards from his own deck and asked:
“What will 2026 look like regarding my physical health?”

The cards were:
Death · Nine of Cups · Knight of Cups

Immediately, I felt a warm, welcoming sensation move through my body—my clair-sentient knowing guiding the message.

The Message His Cards Revealed

Death does not represent physical death. It represents transformation—a change in perception, identity, and narrative.

Cups speak of emotional nourishment, self-love, and restoration. While the word degenerative suggests decline, cups symbolize regeneration.

The guidance was clear:

Shift the way you emotionally relate to your condition.
Begin with nourishment—emotionally, mentally, energetically.
Emotions create feelings. Feelings shape thoughts. Thoughts create experiences.

Instead of leaning into pity or expectation of decline, the invitation was to expect blessings.

To ask: What emotions feel like wellness to me?
And to let creativity lead the healing process.

Resistance, Change & Emotional Healing

After sharing the message, I briefly questioned my directness. But hand to heart, all I felt was love. Truth arrives exactly as it’s meant to be received.

His response was honest and deeply human:

“I struggle with the fact that I’m no longer who I once was. I used to be athletic and independent. Now I depend on others. It doesn’t feel fair.”

Change can feel unbearable when we cling to who we used to be. Yet change is natural. Expected. Healthy.

Resistance to change is where suffering lives.

I often compare transformation to pregnancy—the immense patience, energy, and surrender required to incubate new life.

A Shift Begins

A few days later, I asked if he would take the cards’ advice.

He replied:

“Absolutely. I woke up with a completely different outlook. The pain was unbearable—but I still got up and did some things.”

That is where healing begins.
Not in the absence of pain—but in a shift of relationship to it.

Ritual of Radiance #2: A New Year Mantra

Many of us were taught to say, “Life’s not fair.”
But breathing hand to heart, I know this truth instead:

You receive what you believe.

When we say life isn’t fair, what we’re really saying is:
I am reaching for a better outcome.

So let this be your mantra—for healing, relationships, work, or self-worth:

“I am reaching for a better outcome about this situation because the way it’s currently showing up in my life is not how I envisioned it to be.”

Like a bright yellow brick road, the path forward is already laid.
Together, we will explore it—one radiant step at a time.

With love,
Kei
