Sedona Called Us Home: A Journey Through Vortexes, Visions & Healing

📍 Arrival: April 14 – The Drive, Dinner, and Airport Mesa
After landing in Phoenix, my sister Kaira and I began our scenic drive to Sedona with open hearts and wide eyes. The red rock landscape welcomed us like an ancient storybook.
We checked into a fabulous Airbnb, settled in, and had our first meal at the gorgeous Mesa Grill. The parking lot is small but when it was our turn to park, we asked the barefoot couple descending Airport Mesa how their experience was. I'll never forget his response "You know that nauseous feeling you get after taking shrooms? Its like that but you don't throw up" We looked at each other, laughed, and wished the couple a good night. After only 10 minutes of walking, we noted our skin looked a pale greenish tint and continued the 1-mile hike up and around Airport Mesa, our first concentrated energy vortex.
✨ Intention set: Presence.

Airport Mesa is said to have electric, masculine energy. Its also recommended for the best sunsets in the area so as expected, plenty of spring breakers, families with children, and groups were talking and playing around up there when I began to sit still. Meditation here felt like a somber nap. As the sun began to fall, the space around us felt even quieter, thicker, as if pushed further apart. I felt grounded and gently awakened to the idea that my intention for this entire trip was heard and the answers would unfold in the days to follow. The buzz in my chest was like the desert calling me home.
🌅 April 15 – Sunrise, Cathedral Rock & Messages from Beyond
I woke at 5 AM without an alarm, feeling called to watch the sunrise. The sky painted itself in pinks and golds. There was a hush—like Sedona had paused just for us.
We climbed the steep trail up to Cathedral Rock, one of the most powerful feminine vortexes. It was a challenge, but worth every heartbeat. At the summit, I positioned myself in the sun and sat to meditate.
✨ Intention set: Clarity + Guidance.
During meditation, my higher self spoke:
“Open three containers and throw the lids into the sun.”
Each container grew in size. As I followed the vision, I saw the letters J (backwards) and V.
When my sister and I joined hands, we noticed our arms made a diamond shape. From my angle, it looked like a perfect V—a symbol I kept seeing over and over.
Descent Magic: As we began climbing down, people hesitated. I half-joked that we’d just slide down “like pasta noodles”… and somehow, we did. On a resting ledge, a group of women began singing “I’m On the Top of the World.” We joined in. I cried. There was joy in the air. It felt like we were all singing with the mountain.
🔮 Madame V, Rachel’s Knoll & An Unexpected Sound Bath
Later that morning, I met Madame V, a funny, mystical, deeply intuitive guide. She helped me uncover truths I hadn’t known I was seeking. The reading was deeply personal and perhaps one day I will share details but I will say without a doubt she reminded me to trust myself more, "let your kids create unconventional opportunities", and confirmed my divine abilities.

After juice from a local café, we visited Rachel’s Knoll, a peaceful and reflective vortex surrounded by cactus and ancient twisted trees. A guide encouraged us to sit inside the trees. Kaira said she heard soft, bell-like sounds. I felt like time slowed down for a reason.
That evening, as the sun began to set, we wandered into a crystal bowl shop. Rainbow light poured in through the windows. A woman dressed in white greeted us. Her sound therapy class had no attendees—except us.
✨ Intention set: Receive. Just receive.
She closed the shop and played a full sound healing session just for us. Kaira felt like she was floating. I felt the opposite. I wanted to stand, stomp, feel. Part of me resisted while a stronger presence within allowed the vibrations to heal me.
After the session, she looked into my eyes and asked:
“Have you suffered a loss recently?”
I paused. Then it came to me:
“I lost my independence.”
Tears. Silence. Connection.
Together, we honored our past selves and shared stories of motherhood and identity loss. In that still moment, true healing took root.
🌀 April 16 – A Near-Death Experience, and a Loving Force
As instructed by our sound healer, the next morning we set out for Buddha Beach; a lesser known vortex area that is said to have feminine energy healing waters. During our hike, we crossed a sand-covered plateau of smooth rock. My foot slipped. I lost my balance and fell forward—head-first toward solid stone.
I braced for impact. But a foot from the rock, something stopped me.
I felt a soft, cradling force immediately push me upright. It didn’t come from me.
It came from beyond.
A surge of unconditional love filled me—warm, protective, divine.
When I was standing safely again, I asked Kaira if she’d seen anything. She said she had only been holding my backpack on my left side.
But the presence I felt—it came from my right, from just behind my head.
It felt like someone—or something—saved me.
Not from death, but from fear.
That moment changed everything. The creek, the rocks, the sky—they all felt more alive after that. I understood then that I wasn’t just in Sedona.
I was being held by it.
🌊 Buddha Beach & Bell Rock: Grounding and Grace
We eventually made our way to Buddha Beach, located at the base of Cathedral Rock along Oak Creek. The water was cold, soft, sacred. I stepped in, let it flow over my ankles, and let go. I placed myself in the creek and as an offering, I washed away old stories of a past that no longer defined me. On our walk back, we saw bees (my travel specific spirit guides) flying in patterns close to the sand, fixated on something within. They didn't notice us even when we had no choice but to walk in their path. Symbolically, the message was clear that Kaira and I had entered a new realm of knowing.
✨ Intention set: Healing and Feminine Goddess Awakening.
Later, we walked the flat trail circling Bell Rock, a vortex known for masculine energy. We didn’t climb it—something about the dizzying vibrations, hot sun, and dry winds told me to slow down. It is said that Bell Rock's energy is strong and felt equally for miles in all distances around it. One doesn't have to climb it to feel its effects.
Bell Rock’s message was simple:
You don’t have to earn your rest.
We paused under a shady nook Kaira found in the Bell’s base. I realized how much I’d built up this trip—how much pressure I’d put on it to be everything. And still, Sedona delivered.
🛍️ Juju’s Boutique and Saying Goodbye
Our final hours in Sedona were slow, intentional. We wandered coffee shops, chatted with locals, and met the radiant woman behind Good Juju Sedona—a former Nordstrom buyer turned Sedona creative. I vowed to collaborate with her soon. Her energy is warm and electric, like everything else in this magical town.
✨ The Signs, the Orbs, the Light
Everywhere we looked, we saw curved rays of sunlight and orbs in our photos—gentle signs from Spirit, reminders that we were seen, guided, and held.
The letters J and V showed up in visions, symbols, and names. What they mean, I’m still discovering. But they’ll stay with me.
Sedona didn’t just happen to us.
Sedona remembered us.
And now, we remember ourselves.
